After years of dedicated service, it is with sadness that that my faithful trumpet is starting to show signs of old age. Over the years I have used this instrument on an almost countless range of recordings and live perfomances and it truly has served me well. My parents bought it for me when I was 14, after I was awarded a schollarship to attend the Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama and it has been played nearly every day since.  Unfortunately however metal does corrode, and maybe it's time to say our parting farewells.

I have spoken to many trumpet restoration experts to see if there is a way forward and to see whether repair is a viable option.

Also, my 1940s soprano sax is with the sax doctor at the moment, I'll keep you posted to let you know if it pulls through.
